Giuliano Ciabatta

Giuliano Ciabatta is an Italian born composer, lyricist, writer, sound designer and creative artist. He has a wide background and experience as a digital solution expert and recording studio producer.

He has been a theater manager and senior sound engineer as part of the entertainment team, producing over 300 musical and cabaret shows for cruise ships, live concerts, plays and other theater performances. He wrote over 500 songs of various genres: pop, rock, folk, traditional, latin, dance, children’s music and musical theater.

Giuliano showcased, at the Bruno Walter Auditorium at Lincoln Center NY, the short musical THAT LOOK IN HER EYES written with librettist-lyricist Dennis Hanrahan for the “Across A Crowded Room”, a project sponsored by the New York Public Library.

Currently, Giuliano is working as composer and librettist with different collaborators developing his original musical concepts, CINEMA ITALIANO, 7 DAY BUBBLE and ITALIAN FOLK TALES. He also is composing songs for Cabaret performers.

His original Italian plays and musicals include “L’AMORE AI TEMPI DEL VALZER” and “PUNTO COM” (with librettist-actor Giorgio Comaschi). He’s the producer/writer of longest running (over 15 years) puppet show in Italy “PINOCCHIO, LE AVVENTURE DI UN SOGNATORE” and “C’ERA UNA VOLTA… IL PICCOLO PRINCIPE” a musical for family – schools and a  current illustrated book which has become an Amazon Bestseller in Italy. He wrote the music for the movie “TUTTO LISCIO” (featuring Ivano Marescotti and Maria Grazia Cucinotta).  He designed the audio for the official tour “DISNEY PLAYHOUSE” in Italy.

He created Masterclasses on musical theater, collaborating with the Bernstein Musical Theater School (Bologna – Italy) and the Arts Club Vancouver Theater (Canada). Giuliano had a long collaboration as artist, songwriter and sound engineer with the iconic Italian singer Lucio Dalla. Giuliano is the lyricist and composer for the “Zecchino D’oro”, the most renowned Italian song contest for children (65 editions) broadcasted by R.A.I. Television.

Giuliano has been the executive of Casadei Sonora Music Publishing, the most important folk and traditional Italian music label. He’s been nationally rewarded to promote and preserve the Italian music traditional heritage.

During his career, he consulted, produced and wrote songs for international music companies such as Warner Chappell, Universal Music, Sony Music, Walt Disney and Peanuts. He’s also a performer as singer and actor. He also had parts, in non-speaking roles, in the TV series including “And Just Like That”, “Billons”, “Dare Devil” and  “Law & Order”.

Giuliano has studied fine arts and music in Italy, and theater in Italy and New York, where he currently lives.
